Career Opportunity: Network Engineer

As a Network Engineer with MicroPulse, you will work on a variety of challenging projects and customers. Your primary goal is to provide consulting services and technical support to our clients. This position is customer-facing and requires concurrent work on a variety of projects and tasks. This is a direct, full-time position with benefits. Responsibilities include:

  • Consulting, architecture and design for new implementations

  • Performing implementations, upgrades and migrations to newer or different platforms

  • Providing pre-sales assistance such as technical expertise on customer calls, project scoping / estimating and researching technologies

  • Performing day-to-day troubleshooting and support for ongoing support agreements

  • Creating documentation and performing knowledge transfer for customers

Technologies Supported

Our customers use various technologies, requiring a high level of aptitude and skills in several areas. You are not required to have experience in all areas below but should be proficient in at least one area.

  • Data center, LAN and WAN networking

  • Routing, switching and wireless with Cisco, Ruckus, Fortinet, and / or similar products

  • Network management tools such as ManageEngine, Cisco, SolarWinds, etc.

  • Security solutions such as firewalls, content filtering and secure remote access

  • VoIP / IP telephony implementation or support

Qualifications

To be considered for this position you must have several years’ experience focused on networking. MicroPulse’s two main qualifications for every position are attitude and aptitude. However, we do need certain skills in networking and candidates not displaying those skills will not be considered. Applicants to this position should have the following qualifications:

  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and think creatively to find solutions

  • Experience with standard network maintenance such as performing updates / patches and checking key network metrics

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

  • Organizational skills to balance multiple projects and customers

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

  • Ability to work independently on a project and as part of a team
